Paul Facoory

With more than 43 years of training experience, New Zealand-born horseman Paul Facoory knows what it takes to prepare a winner.

A former professional jockey across both the flat and jumps in his homeland, Paul rode his first winner aboard Moonwalker in the Broadway Hurdles at Matamata on July 14, 1973.

During his riding career in New Zealand, Paul worked with a number of leading stables before stepping away from racing for a period and travelling the world, including working on oil rigs overseas.

Paul later made the move to Australia and transitioned into training, establishing himself in Toowoomba where he prepared Group and Listed runners, enjoyed multiple metropolitan victories and trained winners across South East Queensland.

On the advice of Gold Coast trainer John Morrisey, Paul eventually headed south to Canberra before settling in Queanbeyan, NSW.

Today, working alongside his son Brad, Paul continues to draw on a lifetime of experience in the thoroughbred industry. With well over 200 winners to his name, his knowledge, horsemanship and hands-on approach remain at the heart of Facoory Racing.
